Information on the "Support and Exchange Event for Japanese Nationals Overseas 2025"

Respect

In this season of cherry blossoms, I hope that you are all in good health.
It has been one year and two months since the "Support for Japanese Nationals Overseas" symposium (hosted by the certified NPO Kokoro no Kakehashi Iwate) was held on February 2 last year, with 7 participants. As the world situation becomes increasingly chaotic and large-scale natural disasters occur frequently, support for Japanese nationals working overseas is becoming more important, and we believe that a place is needed to deepen the construction of interdisciplinary and interprofessional networks on a regular basis.

On May 5, the NPO JAMSNET Japan will be hosting the "21 Exchange Meeting to Support Japanese Nationals Overseas" (the name has changed from a discussion meeting to an exchange meeting). We hope to invite those in the public, private, industrial, and academic sectors who are involved in supporting not only Japanese nationals overseas, but also foreigners in Japan, and in domestic and international relief activities in the event of a large-scale emergency, to participate.

In the first part of the event, we plan to report on the activities of Japanese support groups operating around the world and the status of the launch of the JAMSNET Mental Health Network. In the second part, we hope you will expand your network by looking at the materials related to Japanese people overseas and large-scale disaster support that will be on display at the venue. In addition, following on from last year's Noto Peninsula earthquake reconstruction fundraiser, we plan to hold a fundraiser for areas affected by natural disasters both in Japan and overseas.
